Default LS1 Fuel Injector ?

Hi there, My Ls1 is about to tick over to 205,000 miles. It has been very well maintained and oil changes have been a religious act. In the summer on Mobil 1 5w30 it runs 40 psi at idle. SO my engine is still very tight and hopefully the oil pump holds out. My question is I notice sometimes it will stumble a little bit when cold, or even when hot. When I run some Lucas fuel treatment it seems to get better. I would like to replace the iinjectors but at almost $70 a piece that is expensive, So how much will it cost to have a shop remove them and clean them? Will professionally cleaned injectors be as good as new??? thanks!!

take them out yourself and send or take them to a injector shop for cleaning and flow testing. should run 15 or so bucks each.

They are easy to clean yourself. I let them soak a few hours with injector cleaner in them while standing in a cut off oil bottle. Then blow back through with compressed air. The fluid in the injector should shoot out a foot or more if the nozzle is clear.

What kind of fuel injector cleaner? The kind you buy to mix in the gas tank or something else? Explain the "standing in a cut off oil bottle".

I cut the top off of a quart oil bottle leaving a couple of inch deep base. I pour a half inch of the type of cleaner in it that you pour on the tank in that base and stand the injectors in it. Then fill the injectors, too. Or you can fill them with spray injector cleaner. I had a set that hadn't been run in 8 years and it took a couple of days but it worked.
