How does the aftermarket lid draw in cooler air? How is it just as good as a k&n? Also, Is there a prefferedmaker of theaftermarket lids or are they all the same?

Lots of people have done this but it actually will make eyou lose power. The aftermarket airlids are designed to smooth out the air flow and draw cooler air in. Just putting that filter on will not gain you power.

most are angeles so they are under car or away from engine heat, or even positioned so he air rushing at the vehicle, gets to the filter. atleast. for a cone style intake. as for a different box, maybe a bigger tube going to throttly body? bigger box all together, better filter. etc.
