First off, let me say, I'm from the 1st gen side, with my 68 convertible project. My wife couldn't wait another summer, so we picked up a 2000 Trans AM Convertible.

I drove the car home from Denver yesterday, 800 miles. The car runs unbelievable, but its loud, very loud... especially because of the convertible.

To my surprise, when I got home, I realized that the exhaust was set up this way.

What can I do to quieten it down? if I go back to a stock type muffler, would it negate the headers that are installed?
