hi guys. i was looking to buy a very high milage camaro from a state auction. there are 4 there are all z 28's with milage ranging from 175 to 225000 miles. i have a daily driver and was wanting a camaro to play with and fix up (make fast) my question is what do you think a car like this is worth? they were unmarked cop cars. interior rather ragged wiring all tampered with because if all thier lights and stuff. what would be a good price?

 

No more than $4000. Remember that fleet cars are usually well serviced and many times will have a repalcement engine with fewer miles than what the actual car has. That and LS1's tend to wear well.

 

I'd take advice from JD ... he is usually right on track with it !!!

 

hey fellas , the cars sold for between 2500 and 3000. i didnt end up with one. they have the auction every two weeks so another will come up. i thought they were awfly rough . im also gonna look around. i would rather pay more and get something worth having anyway. thanks for the info.

 

I would say thats a good idea, starting with the nicest car possible is always a good thing. For around the $9000 range you can have a very nice LS1 car, a lot of times with some basic bolt ons

 

hell yeah start nice i got 2 A 95 z28 an shes moded but wastent the best to start with(lt1 are unreliable) so a bought another 98 ss with very low miles an shes mint an i lov the ls1 so best bet start nice an then upgrade more an always have fun!!!
