is it possible to put LS6 heads on a 02 LS1? if possible what other modifications would i have to make or should i make and what kind of gains would i be expecting from heads and possible a cam. also what kind of heads and cam do i want? thanks

 

I posted a thread up awhile ago when we discused the ls6 conversion kits for the ls1. If you go to summitracing.com and look up the ls1 to ls6 conversion you'll find a kit that comes with heads and a cam for about $1700 it brings your horsepower rating to over 400. Its a badass kit and some serious power for the buck. and JD1969 said with a little more cam you'll have some serious horsepower.

 

The LS6 heads will bolt right on, but personally I would just go for the AFR heads they flow more and will make more hp (if thats your goal). A cam and heads LS1 will make well over 400rwhp if all the parts are matched correctly.

i was looking on summit and i saw the GM conversion kit then i kept looking around and i saw a patriot Stage 2 head and cam package. check it out. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...12944&D=312944
it comes with the shaft mounted roller rockers and its the same price. which one would give me more power and which one would be of higher quality and last longer? pleasse help. thanks

 

The Patriot package will out-perform the GM kit by at least 50 hp
