gas mileage
Is it possible to get 28 mpg on the highway with my mods? I did it all the time doing 60-65 on the highway and keeping the RPM's below 2000 at all times. My friends don't believe me and I need to prove them wrong. How is the gas mileage on the LS1's so my friends can stop bothering me?

Yeah with my M6 and cam, heads, fast intake, 90mm TB, LT's...etc etc... I get about 24 or so doing 70-75. And yes 28 was what m6s made on highway from factory as stated in the link above.
Whats hard to believe is that here in 08, ford with 6 more model years of stangs, can only get 23 from a 281 c.u. 4.6 and gm got 28mpg's from a designthat is 10-11yrs old and has 75 more cubes and1.1 more liters

what do you guys normally keep your car in 6th at? The guy that sold me mine told me that i should wait till around 73-74ish so it will keep the rpm's at around 1800 or higher, because that'll be in the powerband of the ls1 and it's better for the engine and ecm..
At 75 im just a hair under 1600rpms so on the highway I stay at least at around 1300-1400 or higher in 6th. I go to 6th when I hit about 60mph in 5th and on the highway just drivin. When racing/hauling ***.....those numbers change dramatically!
