Fourth Generation Engine Build
Hey guys. I've had my 98 z28 for about two years now and haven't really gotten the chance to do anything to it except swap out the stock catback system with the magnaflow one. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys can give me some tips on what I should do to build an engine. I was considering tearing out a LQ4 from a junkyard i know and building from that but I'm open to recommendations.

My advice - forget about building your own short block. For the price of an already assembled forged short block, you're money ahead.
Why even mess with it? I steered a friend of mine to a brand new crate LS6 for $3150 delivered from a GM dealer. If you keep your eyes pealed, those kind of deals come along.

It all comes down to money, time and enjoyment.
If you want to biuld it and enjoy it and have time and money do it.
If you dont have time, but have money, buy one
If you have time and want to do it, you'll have to wait till you have the cash, like me!
But seriously, what do you want to build?, a full engine or just a bit more power?
