Default Engine Swap LT1 to LS1

I got some questions about the LT1.
You see I been looking at a 95' model of a z28 but the thing is I was wondering like for later down the line I want to drop a LS1 what would I have to do for it? It is automatic. I know for one obvious get the LS1 then I would need a new transmission for the different engine then the differental would need work for the new engine but what else and about what cost am I looking at?

Wait...you want to get a 95 Z28 and then drop an LS1 in sometime down the road? Why not just get an LS1 Camaro to begin with?

you CAN do the swap, but its not really a good financial move. by the time everything is done you will have spent as much as you would have for the ls1 car to begin with

Ya that is what I been told a lot to do. What about a LT4 or again would that be easier to just get the 97' than replacing the engine.

Just because it's a '97 doesn't mean it's an LT4. I would definitly look into an LS1.

i would look into building up my lt1. guys...he's obviously a new guy to this forum so try to help him out. you have an lt1 right? does 400 horsepower sound pretty good to ya? look into building it up. start with the basic bolt ons such as cold air intake, headers, exhaust, a converter for your tranny, gears, and then you can start looking into heads and cam packages

you can swap an lt1 to an lt4 pretty easy. just heads, intake, and cam. but if ur going to do that u might as well go bigger and badder.
i agree with whammer. a good head/cam package will give u a fun street car with some ***** to it

Sorry guys I hope I don't seem like a noob to Camaro's I been researching as hard as I can between getting ready for finals. All I know is that after all the reading I've done there would be no reason to get a ford mustang from the years I want over a Camaro. It seems the Camaro is always ahead of it's time and the firebird is too bad either especially since it is like a Camaro but I like the Camaro much more not only looks but what they have in tech and good weight of the car. I guess my main reason for wanting to drop a LS1 is the weight difference of engines as well as the LS1 being a top rated engine, it is obvious if an engine goes into a Corvette then it is good. I know an LT1 can get ***** but an LS1 will get more. I know a little about headers, manifold, exsaust, cam, cold air intake, and super/turbo charger. Even gutting the catalic converter can help but obviously illigal for smog control. I guess it is just that I am young so I can only get a car for so much at this time especially since I am in college and was planning on doing things later on rather than as I go.
