Default Electric Exhaust Cutout

Anyone know any good places I can get a good cutout for a good price? There's a good muffler shop I'd like to take it to after I purchase it to install

I've noticed QTP offers some cutouts, what do you guys think about QTP?

What size of cutout will I need for stock pipes? Will I need the single or dual cutout? I only need the dual if I'm runnin true duals right?

Thanks guys for the help

I have QTPs on the Camaro. They work very well and are a lot of fun. We installed two, right at the collector flanges to the Y pipe. Whether the sound sucks depends on what you expect. The sound of a completely unmuffled V8 is not what people expect -- mufflers and exhaust deepen the sound and people expect more unmuffled, but in fact the raw sound is sharp and hollow, with a nasty rasp. Not pretty. But it is loud, and intimidating. We'll be out cruising and some ricer pulls up at a light and revs his engine -- we just open the OTPs and blip the throttleonce -- they generally piddle themselves and act very quiet after that.

hahaha Thats just awesome Lee. See thats what I was really hoping for... having that ability to rev it up loud to someone like that or just to show it off to a friend or family member. It sounds very worthy and I think I'm going to go with it a little on down the road. Why did you install 2 of them? Do I only need one? And which one from QTP would you recommend for me? Thanks alot

he installed 2 becuase of the location he chose, i dont think that setup would be possible with stock headers/y-pipe.

you only need 1 because the best place to put it for clearence will be after the y-pipe has connected under the passenger side

I've heard of these things having low clearance. Is this true? Will it point towards the ground? Cause I'm lowering my car this week so I'm thinking if the cutout sticks out towards the ground, thats gonna be a no go

You can orient the cutout however you want, but towards the ground would seem really really stupid. It shouldn't have any less clearance than the collectors on a set of longtubes. It will probably have a bit less than the stock exhaust, but not too much, probably just as much as a flange from what I've seen. If you're running the stock exhaust it'd be easier to get it after the Y because of how the Y pipe is oriented and shaped, but you'll want it before the pipe goes over the axel for performance reasons. Pick the location between the end of the Y and the axel that it fits best and work from there.

Awesome, I'll definitely keep that in mind when it comes time to install one. What size of cutout will I need for stock pipes? is it 2 1/2" hmmm
