Default Is it clutch or tranny?

Ok so Saturday all of a sudden my car screwed up. It would not shift to 2nd at all or reverse. Long story short today I get in it and without it cranked I can easily shift into any gear. But as soon as I crank it I can't get it to shift into reverse. It does not grind at all it seems like it hits a "brick wall" and stops. The longer I let it run it gets harder and harder and eventually stops going into 1,2,and reverse. If I am driving it and at a roll I can shift into any gear at all without a problem. Any suggestions as to what it might be. I am stumped on this one.

Check the fluid in the clutch, it may be low and the clutch is not fully releasing.

That is the first thing I checked and it is filled to the top. I put it in the shop today so I hope it isn't something too bad and don't cost a whole lot.
