It could be getting to that point 100K miles are a lot on an engine you can keep them going if you keep them well managed. It all matters on the care you give to your car.

I've got that same problem. I smell oil after a good drive. Is this normal? I managed to get an oil leak fixed yesterday and this morning i found a dime size drop of oil on the drive way. This is my first camaro so its really brand new to me. i've only had it <a week now.

<-- auto

and I found my leak. took it to a shop and they said my "Main" gasket is going out. its a small small drop that lands on the exhaust, gets burnt, and isn't enough to make the engine low on oil..

Had a mechanic look at my car and it turns out a seal between the engine and transmission is starting to leak oil onto the exhaust and that's causing the burning smell when i accelerate. The oil thats dripping isn't a lot, so its not affecting my oil resevoir but this will be expensive to fix.

yeah that is the rear main. from what the shop told me, its a VERY VERY common problem in the F-body cars...

i got a quote of 900 to fix at a dealership..

That is true, we see a lot of F bodies with bad rear main seals. The catalytic converts give off a rotten egg smell when they get clogged.

I it a stick? The only smoke I got from my 3.4 and my 305 was the clutch as it aged. If it isnt burning oil or leaking oil....then maybe it is the clutch or a trans leak. I had a Z24 with a 3.1, Camaro 3.4, and a Camaro 305 with TBI (Toilet Bowl Injection).
My friend was a GM master mechanic. He even had a few other ackronoms for GM's
LS - Less Stuff
LT - Loose Trim
GT - Good Tires
He just got tired of "go fast stripes" and "special editions" that were only special to GM's bottom line. There is much less of that now. These are not my opinions as the late 80's/early 90's is where he came up with this stuff. I just want my supercharger to wotk w/o incident. It has a 3/36 powertrain warranty through Edelbrock. I f my problem is not addressed, then they csn ship out a new unit. But first chance I get to buy a 6.2 liter SS with the 6 speed I am going to trade up I think. I want it to be worth something in 20 to 30 years.
