alright, im lookin at buy this 1998 camaro z28, its a manuel 6 speed with 128000 miles on the car and drivetrain. the only problem with it is that it makes a grinding noise into 2nd gear, but does not make the noise coming out, nor does it grind any other gear, does anybody know why this could be. any help? thanks.

 

could be a few things... 1 of which could be the clutch is going out and needs replacing. my car did that when the clutch was needing replacing. And with 128k miles im sure alot of happy heavy feet have put it through its trials.

knew some else who was having that problem and I THINK it was his syncros in his tranny that were bad and or going bad.

 

yea, thats what i was told it could be a syncroid also by other ppl, i just wanted to run it by some more ppl just to make sure thanks. do you know any chance how much that would cost to fix?
