I just purchased a 2011 1ss and I wanted to get it straight piped, but I was told it could not be done. Why?

some ghey people made it illegal.. you can still do it, just slap some mufflers on it when it comes to inspection time. when its done, take them off

 

you need to find a little local shop and talk to them about it, up here they never have a problem, bending the rules lol

 

It may be a problem on the 5th gens do to the ECU and O2 sensors. I could be wrong but i am betting if you remove your cats its going to cause your rear O2s off and probably make the car run pig rich. This could be fixed with a little tuning but then again i know very little about the 5th gen ECU so i might be wrong.

 

you jus get a 2 sec tune, to delete o2s

 

I would say a good dyno tune and HP tuners would be a good investment. After all its a 30K car why go cheap now.

 

yeah thats what i mean lol, my ss had an hp tune and we deleted the 02s since i literally had mufflers on the end of my headers for and exhaust system lol

 

Be a man, go with a cam and open headers.

 

or at least cut outs lol
