ok heres the sitution i have a 98 z28 camaro A4 and im getting a new exhaust set up but i cant do all of it in one day so i was going to run open headers (stock headers)for a day or two well i piece together everything. Will this hurt anything ? i have heard people say it will burn up valves, etc. also on the stock headers where you unbolt the exhaust part from the headers theres to look like a o2 sensor or what is it ? any suggestions would help thanks.

 

the stock exhaust manifolds are too short. you would be breathing fire directly onto your kmember and all of the wires that run along the side of ur engine block. Open headers should only really be done with longtubes because it brings the exhaust gas down below the car rather than releasing it in the engine bay.

no, just all of ur electronics [8D]. btw, after u do ur exhaust u could always look into a cutout. (ive told this story before but....) after I did my LT's on my TA i bottomed out and tore the ypipe away from the drivers side header. I would have been mad but it sounded so increadibly badass . Im getting 1 or 2 electric cutouts when i get some extra money laying around. if u like that sound id recommend it
