Default Muffler Delete

OK I am sure this has been beaten to death but I dont see anything in searching.

Does anyone have any good information on a muffler delete pipe? I was thinking about going out and buying a a piece of straight tubing and two U-bends and making a piece.

I am sure many have done this. I think there used to be somewhere online that sold already made ones but I cant seem to find it anymore.

I am not here to listen to everyones opinions on what they think it is going to sound like. I am more-so looking for technical information on how others have done this or if there is a place to buy pre-made ones.

Thanks[/align]

I did that on my 96. A curved pipe that goes into a straight cross section that replaces the muffler, then out to resonator tips. It sounded great, fairly quiet at cruising but nasty when the right foot got heavy. I even got a couple of compliments from other motorists asking "who's" exhaust I had. I found the "T" pipe on ebay, and fabbed the rest myself. It worked so well, I recently did the same thing on my current 91 RS, but without resonator tips.
I can dig out pictures of it if you want to see.

It's what I have done to mine, and I agree, it sounds great. Camaro 69's description of what to do sounds great, you can also check around with your local muffler shop and see what it would cost for them to weld and bend a little pipe for you.

If I'm not mistaken the SLP loudmouth has a bullet muffer that really can't be seen since it connects right before the "humped" pipe that goes up towards the body. Or as others said just have a shop custom something up.....or go true duals dumped....that will solve everything

Here's what I put on my 91, I'm still trying to find where I archived the pics of the 96. [:@]
It's a complete "cat back" system that I found on ebay. Price was relatively inexpensive too. It has bolt-together flanges before the rear axle, which is nice if you ever want to remove the exhaust without having to cut it up. I welded the whole back section together and also welded on the stock hangers, and an extra one at each tailpipe.
