my buddy works at a auto body shop and has a chart of the loudest flowmaster exhaust and he said that the 40 series is the loudest of the all of them. can anyone confirm if that is true or false and if false what is the loudest

and when i mean loud. i mean like the deep roar of muscle.

 

Its generally known that the 40 series 2 chamber is the loudest street muffler. They also have louder ones but they are the single chamber race mufflers that you "shouldn't" run on the street.

 

I believe the Super 44's are the loudest. There is a sound/video clip on the flowmaster website.

 

why do you ask? Flows are usually just too loud anyway. you don't get that classic "musclecar tone" out of them, all you get is a bunch of obnoxious noise that draws cops attention, and lots of interior drone.

a correct sounding exhaust should compliment the sound the engine is making, not overpower it

 

I have the 40 series Flowmaster and I love the way it sounds.
