If you don't plan on getting longtubes, or headers in general, most people will tell you borla sounds much better. But if you are going to buy headers, borla (in my opinion) sounds like total garbage.
You might feel a slight difference in power, since flows flow like crap, but nothing outstanding.

SLP is my vote. Best mix of sound and performance. To each their own. The best place to hear different muffler sounds is to visit a popular cruise night in your area and inquire when you hear what you like.

I just installed Hedman 1 5/8" Headers and a 2 1/2" Flowmaster full length exhaust system on my '78 last week. I went with the system that uses the single muffler over rear end, it's dual in and dual out though. I used it on my last '78 Camaro and it worked good.
I'm not looking for all out performance. Just a good solid system that I won't have to replace anytime soon.
I've never used Borla mufflers. My friend had them on his '69 Camaro and like them a lot. They sounded good. I can't compare them to Flowmasters though.
