Default 40 or 44 Series flowmasters?

So this is gonna sound like a noob *** question, but seeing as I just got into cars the beginning of this year I think I'm pretty much still am lol. Anyways what's the difference between Super 44 series and 40 series? Does one produce more back pressure than the other? If so which one produces more? I plan on getting 2.5" exhaust on my 76, but wasn't sure what the difference was between the mufflers. If you can tell me what would be best for my car I'd really appreciate the help.

Back pressure = Stupid myth. It's all about velocity. I don't feel like making a massively long post about it though.... I've done it way too many times.

For performance, don't go with Flowmaster. If you want quality sound, then I love em. Super 44s are the loudest of the loud. Everybody will know you're coming from a damn long ways away. 40 series is slightly quieter but still retardedly loud...

The Super 44 is a shorter muffler. Shorter with less baffles = louder.

In my opinion, if you are wanting a muffler, go with magnaflow. they have better flow rates than flowmaster and they dont drone on the highway..

I've got magnaflows on my 76, and they sound good. They have a little rumble while cruisin, but WOT is a different story.

Dont listen to dumby up there...80 series are not loud at all just deep...super 44 is the loudest flowmaster you can buy...however i wouldnt reccomend a flowmaster, but if thats what you want then go with a 44
