Well im looking into buying a 750cfm demon carburetor, ive heard a lot of good about them, but has anyone here use one or have used one? is it worth paying a few bucks more then an edelbrock or holley?

They are a refined Holley and yes if you have the money they are nice. Edelbrocks are not the best carb for all out performance, but are nice on a DD. The main advantage on the Demon is how tunable it is, however I suggest that unless you really know what you are doing, stick to just changing the pump cam, jets and squirters. At least untill you really know whats going on. You can really get a carb out of whack when you start playing with air bleeds and stuff.

yea i noticed edelbrocks basically having the same design as the old Carter carbs, which werent really performance carbs. i think im going to go with the 725 road demon or the 750 speed demon. my old man has reuilt and tuned carbs a lot in the past so im pretty sure he knows his stuff, worst comes to worst i take it to the garage down the road, the guy builds and owns 4 beautiful hotrods.

I am not impressed with edelbrock they are no where near a responsive as holley I had a 1ton chevy that I had a built up 327 in 2.02 heads 480 cam 10.5 comp z/28 inyake headers your normal hot rod engine well I put a edalbrock on it because I did not want to screw around with leaky bowls and power valve issues well it was a slug out of the hole and when I wanted to pass someone
after a bunch of troubleshooting I put a old 600 DP I had laying around and proceded to lay a 200 foot long patch of rubber . I think for mileage and to have a carb you dont screw with a edelbrock is fine but as for performance my monet goes to the Holley design even though I got a demon that had the choke installed wrong out of the box and they are really rich at 4400 feet it is a more agressive design beware not to over carb with a demon though

I really do like Holly. They are right about the Demon carbs, they are very tunable. They are a little bit more difficult to tune and mess around with.
