Default Caburetor problems

I bought a 770 street avenger holly when I put my motor in my camaro the other year and I have had nothing but problems with it. My question is what size jets should I put in the front and in the back and what size power valves should I put in it. I think I blew the power valves out now and thats why its running so bad.

Default RE: Caburetor problems

Take the power valve out and test it. You can test it just by sucking on it an seeing if it will hold a vacuum. Leave the jets alone until you get to the track and can determine what works best. You can determine whick power valve you need with a vacuum guage. You will need at least7 to 8 lbs with the car in gear at an idle. If you only have five or six lbs. you will need to go to a three pound power valve.
Turn the carb. upside downand reference the idle slots in relation to the throttle blade. You need to set bothfront and rear blades in the same position in relationship to the slot in order to achieve the best idle.. In time the gas will create a telltail flow pattern. Hope you like the taste of gasoline. Good luck!
