Default About to place an order...

For some new Pacesetter Long Tubes (off road). A few questions first, which coating is good and what's the differences? Also is is going to fit with my SLP off road Y-pipe or do I need the pacesetter Y? Lastly what is a reasonable price for installing it, lowest I found was $250. Thanks in advance for the help.

Since you're going with Pacesetters, make sure to get the ceramic coating. If you just get painted, more than likely the paint is going to start to burn/chip off and the headers will rust through since Pacesetter doesn't make theirs out of stainless. As far as the Y-pipe, was your SLP Y pipe made for Long Tube headers? If so, 1) why are you getting Pacesetter headers and 2)it probably will fit, but no guarantees. To have a guaranteed fit you should go with a Y pipe from the manufacture of your headers. You could also go with the TSP Y pipe, I know that it fits with Pacesetter headers on the LS1 cars.

Your sig already says you have full exhaust...out of curiosity why are you getting Pacesetter headers?

Previous owner put some headers that I was told were SLP, however they are rusted all to hell and have a few holes from corrosion.

Also I would like some without cats and with my current budget the local f-body guys recommended pacesetter. My Y is is good shape so I would like to keep it if I can, I honestly don't know much about it other than it is an off road SLP Y. I am new to the F-body in general (cobra convert) so im not too knowledgable on the parts and such.

I bought the car from a dealership with 57000 miles and most the work done already, so the history is unknown except that the car sat for 2 years without being turned on. I have already had to put $3000 in restoring the car and now im trying to make it fun.

You also said the ceramic coat is that or the jet hot better or are they about the same?

Thanks for your help man, I really appreciate it.

i have pacesetters and the TSP ypipe on my car, it fit great. 250 for an install is great too btw, but if u have any tech knowledge the install really isnt difficult as long as u can get the entire car up in the air.
