wrong vin?

Default wrong vin?

i lost the keys to my 91 rs and i went to gm to get new ones. the took my vin and told me that that camero didnt have the vats system and a regular key should work. well thats not true. i went to 3 differnt dealerships and they all say the same thing. i know theres places online you can buy all 15 codes but i cant find it. help a brotha out.

Go back to the person that orginally stole the car and see if he still has the orginal vin plates he switched out?

The dealer can figure it out for you but it will not be cheap. Do you have a key that will work mechanicly? If not they would need to remove the cylinder and get that working first then they have a box they can plug into that vats and try each of the codes. They will have to try one at a time then wait 6 minute between trys. Could be all told 3 hours of labor and $40 in parts. If you have a key that will work mechaniclly then it would be between 1-2 hours.
