like he said any motor will fit in that car.i got a 454 in my 78 camaro.it fit right in there.the only thing that was a problem was finding the right headers and really that wasn't that big of a deal, summit hooked me right up.there is no book to tell you what fits what.read some hotrod magazines and look at what they put in cars.any motor will fit in that car.265,283,305,327,350,400,396,454,502,572 pick one it will fit

What needs to be done to Upgrade a original V6 to a 350 V8. Looks like the tranny, the brakes and etc etc. Its the wiring harness is different. The only part I'm worried about and the tranny I heard needs a tilt braket moification piece for my 85 Camaro. Also the bakes and any different part code found at the part store nearest you. Could get expensive. Any Feedback would help

everything will just be a bolt in. you can even still use the same mounts, but if you do, you might have to elongate the holes in the frame where the crosssmember bolts in because the big-block mounts fractions of an inch different that a small block. you shouldn't have to woory about your driveshaft though. also you need to get new coil springs

good luck

you will need to change your engine mounts first off. the tranny will need to be changed because it probably won't last (what is in there now?) but I don't know what you are talking about with a "tilt bracket?", where did you get that info because it sounds like a Mickey Mouse fix if you are taking a shortcut somewhere else. your driveshaft length will need to be fixed, front springs to handle the heavier block, the rearend is probably too weak. your brakes are fine becuase they have nothing to do with the engine size. Street and Performance, Painless Wiring, Ron Francis and others have wiring kits for the conversion that you are doing

good luck and give updates if you decide to do it
