What do you clean battery terminals with?
So as the title asks - what do I clean the battery terminals/connections with? I've heard like coke and a wire brush - Took cammy up to the store to grab a pop, she was fine, came back out and turned the key and she just kinda didn't do anything... Lights are on and everything, I'm pretty sure the battery is good(less than a year old, and when she tries to turn over it works like every time)... So I'm hoping a dirty battery connection - she did this to me a few months ago and they were 'loose' so maybe now there is more gunk in them(She is kinda dirty under the hood)... Anyways I just hung out for like 5mins turning the key maybe 20 times and she finally fired up and I brought her straight home.
Or does this sound like something else? Like I say every time she tries to turn over she starts, its just sometimes when I turn the key she doesn't do anything...

^^^ yep baking soda neutralizes the acid. defiantly wire brush the heck outa them and the wire ends. after done to help stop corrosion u can use the battery post lube stuff. lol cant remember the name of it its red if they still make it. i think small amount of electric grease will work.
Coke is acidic, and can clean the crud off the terminals. But you HAVE to neutralize the acid whether it's battery acid or Coke. First I wire brush off any crusty crud and then remove the terminals from the battery. Clean the terminals and battery posts with a wire brush terminal cleaner. Mix up some baking soda in a small container of water and pour some on the terminals and watch it foam up. Then do it again a couple more times until you stop getting a reaction. Then flush it all clean with straight water.
