v8 exhaust on a v6?

be careful what you put on for an exhaust. it is very easy to put too big of an exhaust on a V-6 and lose too much backpressure. by doing that you will lose a lot of lower end performance and when you step on the gas all you will hear is a loud noise and the car won't be going anywhere.
that is what is the problem with all the imports and their fart can exhausts

Evidently the myth that backpressure is needed still rears its ugly head. It's not needed at all.
I expect a clogged cat convertor to make a car go nowhere. I would also expect backpressure to do that--as in exhaust is not getting out the pipe(s). By that logic, backpressure is unneccesary.
As for ricers and fart cans...they are obnoxious. That's all.
Camaros with the Y87 package have factory duals. They do fine. Slapping on just a v8 muffler with an extra outlet pipe will do no harm. It's not like the car notices the difference.
