Default Trunk Pull-Down Hatch Assembly

I have a 1991 Camaro RS 3.1 L V6. The trunk latch broke and I went on ebay and I got another one that was taken off of a 1986 Iroc-Z. The one from the Iroc has like a different looking mechanism and when I hooked it up there was one wire that I couldnt hook anywhere, and it hooks but it doesnt suck down like it should. Is there anything I can do to make it work. I am sick of riding around with the hatch bungeed down.

86 and your 91 hatch assemblies are as different as night & day. It is usless to you. Go to the web site of Top-Down Solutions and get the info there. They also have full instuction you can down load for the hatch repair. Good luck

I have that same car, and had the same problem. I went to the pick n pull and got the whole assembly and replaced but there was also one wire that didnt go anywhere... I dont know what it was for. If the other mechanism is somewhat alike you can take the motor out, spin the thing down a bit then put the motor back in, In doing this it is more pulled down already while the motor has not closed it yet(if that makes since?)
