how would i tell? isnt is the unit that sits between the engine and the transmission? theres no wires coming from it... um i really dunno, i feel lke such a noob here.
but im gathering that i can still put it together and then find out by the way its shifting if there is no other way..

find out where it was purchased and ask. they will know. also if you can find a good tranny man where you live that will give you some info, i know that lockup solenoid can be hotwired. you just have to find out what two wires have to be spliced together. i'm pretty sure the info i gave in an earlier post is correct. there will be four terminals inside that connection. "A" would be the hotwire connection then either "b"and "c" have to be spiced or "b" and "d" or "c" and "d". pretty sure it's the latter. this will close the circuit and the lockup will occur in the gear the tranny was designed to. some were designed to lockup in third. some in fourth. depending on the year model.
