RE: tires
BFG makes a drag radial that is DOT approved, but it's wet traction sucks because it only has 3/32nds of tread. the rear sway bar will only help more in cornering. Basicly what you gotta do is control axle wrap, when you mash the gas the pinion gear wants to climb the ring gear, this causes the axle to twist up in the chassis. The better the traction you have the more it's gonna want to wrap. With leaf springs theres only so much you can do. thicker leafs will help, but, they add wieght and ride to harsh. trucks use ladder bars, I've never seen any for camaros. Trac bars would help, they bolt below the springs and minimize axle wrap. or you could fabricate something. I can tell you that the factory posi will not last long behind that big block, unless the clutches have been replaced recently (within the last 2years or so). if the rearend has never been rebuilt I assure you it will need bearings and clutches. If it's race only put in a spool. If it's street/strip try a detroit locker. Any limited slip you put in will burn up in a year or two with that 454 pounding on it
