Thinking of buying a 92 camaro RS
Found an ad for a 92 camaro RS for 1500. The guy said the passenger window motor doesn't work and someone had to put a push button ignition in because the ignition won't turn with the key in. Car body looks to be in good shape said there were a scratches on the car but doesn't look bad. Odometer reads 140 something thousand but he said the engine was replaced so I don't know how many miles are actually on the "new" motor. I ran a carfax and everything came up fine so I was wondering, should I go for it? This would be my firstcar.
EDIT: oh and was wondering how much would it cost to put a reliable motor in if this one fails parts + labor (oh and if you're in the tampa bay area of course you'd give me a discount )
In your experience with camaro's I was wondering if this sounds like a good deal or not. Oh and the person I talked to said he would sell for 1400.

i would have killed for a camaro as a first car. yea that sounds like a good deal, im guessing it has a 305 in it? (V-8), i guess the only way to know for sure is to drive it yourself.

yeah that's the kind of response I thought I'd get... pretty much figured that. I think milage is taken too much into consideration when buying a car. Do you know how much it would cost to get the engine replacedthough if this one went bad?

well its really hard for an engine to go bad, unless the block is damaged, it would probably be easier to just get it rebuilt if it doesnt run as good as it should

Well, that camaro has been sold for a while and ever since I've been looking for another one. Was thinking of settling a few times but I told myself my first car was going to be one that I cared about, something that connected to me and was an extension of who I am, which is not a pinto, an escort, or any of those other crap cars people are selling for a grand. Found a 1989 Z28 with 68k miles on it, guy says there's nothing wrong with it at all, V8, automatic, for $2000. I had a mangasm looking at it online.
