Default Synthetic Oil Pressure Drop

I recently changed my oil and used Mobil 1 10w30. Noticed slight drop in oil pressure. Is that normal? Keeping in mind that when i bought this car, i bought it with BLACK BURNED oil. Should I use a different viscosity? Maybe 20w50? Car never runs hotter than 160.

I've heard a couple people here mention their oil pressure dropping some after changing to synthetic. Although, I've switched a number of my (high mileage) cars over to synthetic in the past, with no oil pressure changes, so go figure. Yeah, telling what your oil pressure is will help. A slight drop isn't going to hurt anything, unless you were already low and that drop puts it in the red zone.

ok, cruising with the OLD oil pressure was at 60psi. Idling at approx. 30 psi. Now with Mobil 1, cruising is between 45-50psi and idling is now between 25-30 psi. Using Mobil 1 filter M-111. Did notice a slight smoother idle though. Sounded healthy.

nothing wrong with that. if the oil was old or of a heavier wt then it would drop as it has.

Ok, drove it on the Fwy today...Pressure is at 50 psi cruising and 30 psi idling...but it will drop to maybe 25psi if waiting for a red light...but no lower than that. Is pressure good or shall I go back to regular oil? Also, 10w30 is ok? Or 5w30? Or 20w50?

pressure is fine and 10w30 is fine as well. if your in an excessively cold area you may want to switch to 5w30 for winter but should be good now.
