Squeaking noise from engine when i accelerate??
Alright, when the car is idling i can't hear the squeak, but when i rev the motor i hear squeaking...It seems to be coming from the motor and it gets faster the higher you rev the car...It's a really weird sound and seems to be coming from the driver side valve cover area...(Just a guess, but very hard to tell) I really don't think it's coming from the pulley area. I was hoping, but it definitely sounds more like somewhere around the motor. I'm hoping it's nothing serious, but I'm going to baby the car and not take any chances. At this point, i really don't have the money to fix anything major, but what should i do for maintenance to make it better? I mean, is this something that is just going to make the car break down?
It never did this before today and i have a feeling it's something not good...
It sounds pretty much exactly the same as this video clip. (Very close)
I should also mentioned i replaced my alternator today and never noticed the sound until i did this...Although, the sound isn't come from the alternator...

Then I would look at all that's related to what you just did. Did the alternator come with a new pulley, or did you reuse the old one? And did you also replace the belt, or reuse old? Did your pulley alignment change with the new alternator? It's possible the belt itself is squeaking. You may have gotten something on the belt (grease, antifreeze, etc.) when you were messing with it. With the engine running, take some brake cleaner and spray some onto the belt and see if the squeak goes away. You don't have to soak it down like a waterfall, but still be sure to stay out of the line of fire so you don't get sprayed. If it does quiet down, either clean the belt or replace it. Goodyear Gatorbacks are excellent non-squeak belts to use.
