running problems in the upper RPMs
i'm new to the forum so its nice to be here. I traded 91 silverado for a 95 Z28 that has running issues. let me explain.
The car will start and idle perfectly. It will also drive okay on short runs. any more than 1/2 throttle will kill the motor and shut off. after a few moments it will start up and drive again, but for a short distance. When in park, if I hold the throttle @ 3000-3500 RPM the tach will 'flutter'.
the guy hands me reciepts for just about every fuel component on the car, including the fuel pump and injectors, but not the regulator. I get under it and the oil level sensor wires are cut and twisted together. i fixxed that. even put new sensor in. I have a few spare parts but i'm stumped. any ideas?
update: after quick test run to see if what i was reading was what was happening to my car, they seem to be the same with the new oil level sensor no service lite comes on.
really stumped. Knock sensor??? IAC???

had the same problem, just fixed it, was one bad injector, was working so it idled fine and drove fine until about half throttle, and was gettin bad gas mileage, i replaced plugs, wires, coil packs, fuel filter and fuel regulator, and it was injectors, so replace these things if they havnt been already! then i would replace the fuel pressure regulator! then do a fuel pressure check, if thats good, you may want to do a compression check just to rule that out! but other than that could be a vacuum leak, maf sensor, cam positioning sensor, clogged cat, or maybe bad air filter! get a repair manual and a voltmeter, or google it and you can test alot of the sensors and injectors with the voltmeter!
