Default Removing/Replacing Ignition Switch

ok i need help removing and replacing the ignition switch on my 93 camaro.I have all the panels of and the steering wheel is down,i got one of the screws off but it seems there is something else holding it in place, ive never done this before so i need a little help.I looked in both my Chilton and Haynes manuals but they dont say anything about it, i even got a repair guide from autozone on the matter but it doesnt say exactly how to remove it.

[&:] alih there is a lock cylinder retaining screw inside the column, you will need to remove the steering wheel and a few other parts inside the steering column to gain access to this screw. there is a special tool for the steering column lock plate that will be most helpful if not required to do this. dont forget to disable the airbags first before you even start this procedure. if you need more specifics let me know kurt

93 still had the round coulumn correct with the switch all the way down by the firewall on top of the tube. There are two small screws on there. Also the high beam switch bolts to the ignition switch.

If it were the later square column then there is two small screws holding the switch. One, if memory serves, goes straight down from the top and the other it tucked away tight some what behind the steering wheel.

I can never see the screws. I have to use the force! Now both the ignition and high beam switchs need to be adjusted when installed.

The screw holes are slotted. Have the screws in it loose and snug one up. Turn the key back towards the accesory position. It should lock into place and the radio should work. Then make sure you don't have to turn the key real far to get it to crank. Find its happy medium and then tighten the one single screw and go for the high beem. I usualy push it all the way up until the rod is snug against it and the lever/acctuator and maybe just a fraction more. Tighten the screw and make sure it will click high and low with the lever.
