removing alternator on 95 neon

Default removing alternator on 95 neon

anyone know how to replace a alternator on a 95 neon ? i cant seem to get the belt off, there is no tensioner

Look for an idler pulley. There should be an adjusting bolt which moves th idler pulley, usually has a jam nut to lock it in place. Loosen bolt to relieve belt tension & belt should come off. Welcome to the world of Chrysler, they don't need any stinking self adjusting tensioners. LOL

yeah this car has been a headache, really frustrating too, i like how they compacted everything so its hard to work on
