Default Rear axel bearings too grease or not too grease?

1996 Camaro recent new owner and confused:

I am used to re-packing my bearings every 20-40,000 miles makes them last longer, the Camaro has me confused. Clintons or Haynes doesn't mention to repack the bearings (assumed?) on the net some people say too, other people don't mention packing or say it doesn't matter.

I understand the Differential has 90W+ oil but its viscosity is nothing compared to bearing grease; wouldn't a good packing extend the bearing life?

nope u dont repack the rear bearings and cant repack the front ones, u have to buy the hub assembly. the rearend should take 80w-90 gl5 oil and also if its posi will need 4 oz of limited slip additive.

Thank you, but it just seems so wrong! I'm doing at least a light packing even though I do not have a inner chase for the wheel bearing, it still has to make for a better break in period, :-)!
