Default Power Window Problem

Hi, I'm new to the site...but I'm hoping to find some answers from those more mechanically inclined than myself.

The driver side window of my 98 Z28 keeps cutting out. It's as if there the power is being cutoff because of overheating. When I push the button for the window to go down, it will lower approximately four inches, then stop. Then a few minutes later I can push the button again and it will lower some more, but then again stop. The same problem occurs when trying to close the window and I don't need to tell you how inconvenient that is when you're about to start rolling thru the car wash...YIKES!! I can hear something under the dash clicking, but damned if I can locate where that is coming from. Any suggestions as to this problem? Thanks to anyone in advance who can help.

There is a window module under the dash on the center to the right by the firewall I believe. I dont know if that is what happens when those go bad.

My '96 only has 23,000 miles on it and I've had to replace both window motors.

Its not bad of a job but pay close attention to the adjustments. And watch the regulator. If the motor come apart from it, it will snap at ya because of the temsion on the coiled spring.
And when ever I would do one I added the cursing for fun.

Jump to the facts and take that door panel apart. You can manually get the window down, but honestly to get your work room, pull that bad boy out of the the frame and then re-install window after replacing the motor. Be sure to make sure you do not move your tracking on the window or the alignment will never be the same without a headache.
