Power window help (problem)
I have a 96 3.8 camaro not that it really matters but okay basically heres my problem i put down the window (driver side) it goes down about 6 inches and stops... After that it wont go back up nor down any farther i give it about 15 minutes and it will move again but only another 6 inches... So basically if i want the window down it takes 30 minutes or if i want the window up it takes 30 minutes... Now on the passenger side it works fine even if i use the controls on my driver side. What i was thinking is it possible the switch is bad... also i hear a little clicking sound kinda sounds like plastic hitting eachother it sounds like its coming from right below the fuse box. Figured id tell ya guys that so u might be able to help me a little more. What could my problem possibly be, PLEASE HELP thanks guys

RE: Power window help (problem)
It happened with my old V6 camaro too... i replaced the motor and everything was fine. The new motor isnt that expensive but getting it in isnt too much fun. The original motor in my car was rivited (sp?) in... and the replacement had to be bolted in. but the whole thing was worth it cause the window would go down again... and more importantly it went back up...

RE: Power window help (problem)
yep mine did it too; theres a clock spring on the regulator or the motor or where they meet or SOMEwhere on it that you need to watch out for; i found a thing on the internet when i was replacing mine that showed me how to drill through one of the metal bars so it would not slice my hand off like a giant pair of scissors; do some research if youre installing it yourself []
http://www.a1electric.com/s10motor.htm--that should describe the steps well; its for a S-10 but that doesnt matter; still a window motor; when mine needed to be replaced i got it from advance or some auto parts store and it was 75 bucks which was a rip off; i saw some on ebay as a SET, both motors, for just 25...so check that out and if youget the set and havea spare passenger side one i could use it [8D]i'll split the costs

RE: Power window help (problem)
The circuit breaker for the window is operating, either due to a bad motor or binding mechanism. Either way you will have to take the door panel off & see what is going on.
