If the engine is turned off & the temp gauge goes up, don
Check to see if the fan is running when the AC is off. The AC forces the fans on at high speed, bui it is possible that the fan is not being brought on by high engine temp as it should. What year car is this?

Don,
Your AC is not leaking water, there is no water in the AC system. What you are seeng is condensation around the otside of the cold pipes. The water dripping out of the bottom is from the evaporator under your dashboard, on a hot & humid day condensation forms on the evaporator, drips into a catch tray and is dumped under the car via a hose. The sizzling is cauased by the condensation dripping on the exhaust. Have you checked to see if your fsns are working when the AC is off??
