i have a 1992 camaro rs with a stock 305. when i turn the key back and fourth multiple times sometimes the car will start. i replaced the ignition switch with no avail. is their something wrong with the starter. oh, when i turn the key all the lights and fan and radio all come on it just seems like theirs no power going to the starter

 

if u take off the starter and go to auto zone they can test it for u

 

im having the exact same problem in my 1997 camaro, just replaced the starter and didnt fix a damn thing, waste of $200 and i did it myself... looking to replace the ignition switch today.. but your post scares me

 

Security light on? Check the starter relay. Make sure the chip in the key is clean.

 

chip on key is clean, checked the repair manual for information about the starter relay and didnt see anything about it, any idea where this is located and what it might look like? also my camaro is a manual if that makes any diffrence

 

Neutral safety switch possibly malfunctioning.

 

[&:] try pulling the tilt column( if you have one) into the down position and then try starting it, help any??? kurt
