Default Lost keys what are my options?

I have a 95 camero that I left my only set of keys to at the airportanywhothey were never found. I went to the dealer to have a new kew made paid for the code and the key. The dealer told me that it waould be stiff and I would have to put the key in and out of the ignition a few times, but alas it still does not work I am not sure if the ignition has been change or what but the new key will not turn. Does anyone have suggestions for what I can do or am I royaly screwed.

Thanks

Call a locksmith and have him replace the ignition lock clylinder. It will come with new keys that work. About $75 or wait for a better idea.

I thought about that but what about the VATS. at this point I am not sure if the key from the dealer has the same code as the what is in my car or what.

Let the locksmith worry about that. My opinion.

A locksmith can pic the lock to turn it and remove it then make the very same key from the tumblers that are inside. Or some are also real good at working a blank in the lock and filing it to work.

Update called a locksmith he came out read some numbers on the inside of my cylinder then cut key on the spot free hand. Then he used the key I got from the dealer to check the VATS code and cut my a new key from that. So now I am back up and running. I also have a spare inigation key now. Thanks for all the help
