INPUT NEEDED: 97 3.8 - Headlights Stay On After Locksmith Replaces Ignition Cylinder
With the aggravation of everything going wrong with my car, it took a bit of restraint to not go off half-cocked. I lost the keys to my ride not long ago. Prior to loosing them, everything electronic worked fine minus the horn (dead since purchase) and the high beams (combo switch *CRACK*... and no more hi beams... but all other functions remained
.
I had this company install a lock cylinder and hook me up with the right VATS. They put everything back together. Now my horn works... (cool), but my lights stay on (lows... blows...) and keep my battery permanently dead. When trying to turn over the car, every position of the cylinder initiates the various elements of the car correctly, but when pressed into turning over the car, there is nothing. No click-click-click... (dead starter).. nadda.
My problem is this... Before I lost my keys, she started... ran... on and on. NOW that the ignish cylinder has been replaced, my lights stay on, and there is zero turn-over. What gives? Is it possible for him to have ground something out?
Thanks for the insight as always everyone-

Sounds like maybe they didn't put everything back the way they took it off. IDK but could they have plugged in a connection backwards? I have never been in the steering column yet. Thats on my to do list. Replace the high low switch on a 98 after I get the engine back in.
