I bought a 99' Z28 used and i dont have the code for the stero. I look in the manual for the code and it wasnt in there. I called the dealer and they dont have the code. I called chevy and they cant help me. What can I do to be able to use my stero?

 

I thought dealers could help with that. You just have to take the vehicle to them and prove it is yours. If they hepled every one, namely thieves, then what good would having a code do.

 

This is a job that has to be done by the Chevy dealer or an authorized radio repair shop. The dealer retrives a factory code from the radio. This code and the dealership code are sent to the factory via a computer link. The factory sends back an unlock code. After the radio is unlocked you can go back and set up your own security code. Go to the service department, not the parts department. Good luck.
