Who told you that? Rubber hose should be used only at a junction, or at a flex-point connection (frame to engine).
NEVER use rubber hose as a front to back line run, unless you want to take a chance of someday blowing up the car from some road debris puncturing the hose.
There's a reason why fuel lines are run in steel from the factory....safety.

High pressure rubber fuel hose isn't going to "blow out", that's not the issue. The hazard is that it's not puncture resistant. Maybe you don't have any road debris that can throw something up and whack a hose where you are, but we sure do.
You may be able to find pre-bent tubing, depending on your year, at places like classicindustries.com, providing they ship to you. Otherwise you can buy lengths of straight steel tubing and bend it yourself.
BTW, are you fuel injected or carb? If it's fuel injected, the supply line should be flared and fitted.

Towards the top, at the left, click on "User CP". Then under "Settings & Options" you'll see "Edit Avatar" and "Edit Signature" The picture next to the user name is the Avatar, the picture below a response is part of the signature. And thanks for the comment btw.
