Default Fuel issues?

I have a 92 Camaro that is acting up. It was running and driving great till recently something (maybe) happened to the fuel pump? It starts if gas is poured into the intake. I havent gotten a chance to figure out the problem completely but my more mechanically savvy friends have inspected it and said that its a cheep problem to fix. Possibly just needs a new fuse for the pump, or the fuel line got loose?
IT WILL START WHEN FUEL IS PUT DIRECTLY INTO THE INTAKE, it will eventually die once the fuel is evaporated then the whole thing starts over again. PLEASE HELP ME!!
Thank you so much

Try changing the fuel filter.

Try this out: Have someone get a small hammer and tap on the gas tank right under the fuel pump. If the fuel pump is getting power and is just going bad, it will run the car so long as the tank is getting tapped on with the hammer. I had to help my boss with his van, his fuel pump went out and it would only work so long as I banged on the tank....

^^ haha, well, it worked for me.I'm not sure why it works, but it got my boss's van to run while i was doing it and stopped when I did. He had to get his fuel puomp replaced, after.... 350,000 miles on it. And it's a Ford van, too....

Hell I would use a harley tool on a foord too!

Chances are your pump took a ****. If you can turn the key to on and can not hear the pump buzzing ( it should last about 2 seconds) then check your fuses and be prepared to replace the pump..... weither the hammer trick works or not

The pump in my 91 crapped out too, but it wasn't the pump itself. The rubber connector (short thick hose) that connects the pump to the sending unit got all spongy and then split open. I had to drop everything down because of a friggen little piece of rubber. Of course I replaced the pump while it was all apart anyway, even though it was still good.
I don't think a hammerfer would have fixed that one! I'll have to remember that hammer trick though, my windshield wipers are acting up now.

IO had the wiper motor going out on my 84. The first time they stopped I jumped out and when I closed the door the jarring of it made them work again.
Sooo while I was waiting for a motor when the wipers would stop I just opened the door and closed it and they would work for a bit more.
