exchange between years (within generations)
Hello everyone. I'm new to this chat thing but not Camaros. I had my first when I was in college many many years ago. Does anyone know if there is a book that can guide me as to which body parts are exchangeable within 2nd generation Camaros? I have a 1973 numbers matching that needs body panels but I'm not sure if I can use parts from a 1975 or any others in that generation.
Thnx

RE: exchange between years (within generations)
most compenents should be interchangable amongst its respective generation and brand(chevy vs. pontiac) hollander interchange is one of the bibles of parts compatibility. may be able to find on the web somewhere or your local parts yard , if big enough should have access to one and be able to tell you if its a direct replacement. as for that exact interchange i dont know as i havent dabbled in body parts from that generation much. i thought they made a few body style changes around 74-75 but i could be wrong. goodmark, Eagle or one of the sheetmetal replacement parts companies could tell you also, and may depend on which part. if your like me i do prefer the fitment and quality of the O.E. parts as opposed to any after market stuff. i just took a quick look at goodmark and there are some differences in some parts in that time frame. 73 vs 74 seems to be one break and 75 was on some other parts so maybe do a little more research on there kurt

Get yourself a parts catalog from some place like classicindustries.com and you not only have a place to order but you can look to see what parts interchange. I just looked in mine and 70-77 fenders interchange. Or just look up parts places on the web to find out.
