Default Dumb ?

I dont rember is it 8 qrts of oil or 12 qrts of oil when you do a oil change car 79 camaro?

With a filter change, it's right around 5 quarts, unless you have an aftermarket deep pan.

Dumb is right, I had to add that one qt with a filter to be SARCASTIC. A real big deep oil pan for8/12 qts?? What dose he have a bus???

This answer was not too bight either.
Standard sump on a small block would be 5 and a big block 7. Unless you have a Cummins then 12 should work
