Default clutch fan

My car has always had a little over heating problem. It would never dangerously overheat (hottest it would get is about 215) I am going to be taking it on longer drives on a more frequent basis in the next month so I decided to replace the clutch fan with a mechanical flex-a-lite fan. The temp is great now (stays at a steady 190) but after about 2k rpm all you can hear from the car is a ridiculously loud fan. Has anyone else put a mechanical fan in their car and had this problem? and any ideas how to lower the sound?

Default RE: clutch fan

You should have replaced the clutch. The goo inside the clutch looses its grip when it gets older and allows too much slippage.
