Default clanking noise

I have an 88 camaro and when I accelerate especially when I gun it I will hear it and it will get faster and faster it kinda sounds like something is hitting the ground but it isn't. It is fine idling and in reverse it's drive. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side and when I step on the pedal all the way down it will feel like something is jumping up. It also does it when I turn, there is no pattern to it, but it does it a lot. Sometimes for a few minutes it won't even do it. What could it be?

Check the U joints. Twist the drive shaft back and forth sharply & see if the joints are making noise.
