Well at long last I got it!
What a huge PITA to do,the plastic wheel with the half gear thingy broke on the new motor trying to install it but I managed to pull the old one off the old motor easy enough.
Getting the broken one off the new motor was not so easy,it came off in pieces but I got it off,it's a splined press fit and has to be in a specific position.
At that point I was sweating bullets if I could get it back together and installed because the plastic back piece can't be purchased separately so I'd have to buy another actuator motor to get it. I installed it in two pieces, first the back piece which took me at least a half hour to get in place without breaking it or the plastic lever and gear it moves.
Then I had to get the motor lined up just right and pressed onto the back piece, this is all in the dash above the steering column so I'm working with my head on the floor by the brake pedal and trying to work one handed while holding a flashlight with the other.lol.
Then came to moment of truth, was it the motor or the switch or a bad wire somewhere, only turning the key and turning on the heater will tell.
I did so and turned the mode **** while standing on my head to look at it,presto it works!
I got back on my feet and did the happy dance, time for a beer!
Fixed a few other things as well, replaced a broken courtesy light fixture on the driver's door panel and replaced the bulb in it and the other side and the dome light, all work now.
The passenger side didn't have a bulb in it and the wire had dropped down inside the door so I had to pull the door panel off to find it.
While in there I cleaned and lubed the door lock actuator shaft clips, the grease was hardened and the lock wouldn't work with the electric switch, works great now.
The engine bay light wasn't working so I checked it out, good bulb and power to the plug, took it apart and cleaned the gravity switch and it works now.
The tailgate was a mess, the hinges and latches were shot, one of the support cables broken and the striker bolts worn out so it rattled and didn't like to shut.
I replaced all those parts with new and she shuts tight now like it should.
Previously I bought a new plug wire and spark plugs kit ,really smoothed the old truck out,she has 225K miles but the 5.3 runs strong and doesn't use oil.
The driver's door sags so I bought a new pin and bushing kit for the hinges, haven't got to that yet and I'm buying new shocks next so more to come.

She loves to go for a ride, every time I step out the front door she heads to the truck.
On another note I fixed the daytime driving lights this weekend, one still worked but the socket was pretty fried and the other was completely toast. Spliced in two new sockets with butt joint connectors and wrapped with black tape then replaced both bulbs.
The lens housing on both sides had lost whatever seals it to keep water out so I dried them both out with a leaf blower and shop-vac then used clear silicone to reseal them.
Both working now and hopefully water tight.
Meanwhile she killed the squeaky toy.
Down to one, Bessie passed six weeks ago. Hudson is 8 yrs old.

Ahhh, sorry for your loss,we had this girl for 14 years and went several years with out before the new pup (she's just 16 months now).
Miss this old girl a lot ,she was a real gentle sweetheart, pic from long before she was old a gray.
On a lighter note I fixed my power mirrors on the truck tonight, new switch came ($10 ebay free ship) and 5 minutes to install, they work like new.
Well last weekend I fixed the daytime driving lights with new sockets and bulbs on project '99 Silverado and the reseal I did on the housings seems to have worked,I drove through rain off and on during the week and so far no water in them and they still work.
This week I installed a new power mirror switch and the mirrors now work like new and I pulled the door panel to clean and lube the electric door lock actuator rod tracks and got that working, did the other side earlier so my locks work with the switch now on both sides.
Today I installed my new KYB Excel-G shocks front and back so she has a much smoother ride.
Project '99 Silverado is coming right along.
Next up I'll tackle the driver's door hinge pin and bushing job.
