Default what is this?

87 z28 305....passenger side under the dash....its a round nub that sticks down from the dash...your wire that moves from cold to hot is hooked to it. it turns the valve inside the dash so you get cold or hot air. mine is broken. guy before me tried to jb weld it. i can move the control w/vise grips. i'd rather have my wire hooked back up (especially since the jb weld has now broken off). what is this thing called and how do you replace it. pretty sure the dash has to come out like when i changed the heater core. duh on me, i should have fixed it then. anybody?

If its the stud that the wire goes on its part of the blend air door. I think the whole door needs replace. Those usualy don't break.

The only trick I know is have some one else do it. You may find some one to do it for a 12 pack but those type of peoples work is always questionable
